Music for EldersMany of the elderly in our community don't have the access to or have the mobility to listen to the music they love and grew up with. So we have committed ourselves to bringing the healing and invigorating power of music to them, live. We provide 45-minute music programs, specializing in music from the 20's, 30's and 40's, as well as fulfilling specific musical requests. Nursing homes, hospice patients and retirees are some of the people and places we like to visit.

Thank you letters...
The sound of Karen's voice in the room was like liquid light to me, filling up the wounds of my heart, extracting the thorns. Her sound was so clear to me, and was like a river. She sung Gershwin's tunes like precious prayers of clear rivers, and Gershwin's lyrics like exquisite feathers resting alongside. I believe that a black bird can have a white feather, and that it could fall out and float upon a river. I can't say enough about Karen, and I won't forget her. Off a swan's wings, she shined a light. The family of Robert L. Streckfus, Jr. is extraordinarily blessed on this
day. Thank you from Linus |
…was a very special evening and we accomplished our goal – to send that roomful of people out into the world with a deeper understanding of Swan Songs and the profound impact these concerts have on everyone involved. You all were just perfect and I am eternally grateful. We also raised $3500, which is a great thing and will help to keep the wheels in motion! (Or the wings
in flight, so as not to mix metaphors). Thank you, thank you, thank you. Warmly, Christine (Christine Albert is the executive director/president/co-founder of Swan Songs) |
